The OV Travel Tickets (OV Reiskaart) is a paper ticket. They are valid for a journey within a certain number of contiguous zones and within a certain period of time. Transfers are allowed within those time and zones. The price of the OV travel card is based on the number of zones you travel. Do you want to know how many zones you travel through? Buy the OV travel card in advance in our service shop in Amersfoort, the U-OV service shop in Utrecht and at the U-OV tram stops.
We don't sell any tickets in our bus. You can only check in and out in our buses with your debit or credit card (OVpay) or OV-chip card.
Children (4 to 11 years old) travel for free with Syntus Utrecht if accompanied by an adult (18 years or older).
A maximum of 3 children aged 4 to 11 years may travel for free per adult. Children up to 3 years old always travel for free on public transport.
Please note: buying a separate ticket is often more expensive than checking in and out with your contactless debit card, credit card or mobile phone.

This ticket is valid on all regular Syntus Utrecht buses.
- This ticket is not valid in the local bus (buurtbus), night bus and SyntusFlex.
- This ticket is accepted on local bus line 524.
- With this ticket you can also transfer to the buses and trams of U-OV, within the stated number of zones and times stated on the ticket.
For travelers who don't want to check in and out with a debit or creditcard. Note: traveling with OV-chip card chip card or
OVpay (checking in and out with your contactless debit card, credit card of mobile) is much cheaper.
